Proven concepts through object-oriented approach

You want your production process to run smoothly and your machines to be reliable. Cost reductions, time savings and excellent quality are the main drivers for investing in efficient automation and machine control.

During the lifetime of your machine you want to have the reliability and up-time of your machine under control and keep your operating complexity to a minimum. AWL can give you both by using an object-oriented approach.

When building a new machine AWL works according to the object-oriented approach. This means we use standard building blocks from our library. These blocks have already proven themselves. New machines are built based on these blocks. An important part of the object-oriented approach is object-oriented programming.

The main benefit for our customers is the assurance that they really get what they ask for. Only the essential software is integrated, making the machine cheaper and less complex. The machine is easy to operate and control and the complexity is hidden in the objects.

The objects contain excellent documentation by means of help-files and extensive diagnostics, and it is possible to upgrade the objects to further improve their performance.

Our 3rd generation software is based on Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA), ensuring that critical software objects are given the highest priority in the programming. In other words, when your machine is running, the programme will do whatever it takes to make sure the production runs smoothly and is uninterrupted. This results in a significant improvement in machine speed of up to 5%.

The standard building blocks ensure stability and reliability and are used in every (sub) module on the automated welding machine. They also enable a quick change in parts of the programme, making it easier and faster than ever. Because the interface between the object is standardized, objects can be exchanged easily without worrying about the effects in the rest of the control system.

As all actions and reactions are planned and communicated via the PLC, it is the most important part of your machine-control system. AWL’s machines make use of the best control systems available. They are therefore up to the task in terms of meeting the market’s growing demands for performance and functionality.

We integrate Human Machine Interface (HMI) panels into our machines in order for you to remain fully in control of your machine. This gives you absolute control over even the most complex processes and allows you to increase the availability and productivity of your machine.
