AWL now represented in Turkey

In recent years, AWL has delved into the possibilities of the Turkish market. In 2010 it made a serious step in the further expansion of this market. Since AWL has set itself the target of becoming the European partner in automated welding solutions, penetration of the Turkish market is a logical next step. There have already been successes in Russia and the first successes in Turkey are expected soon.

Turkey is seen as a dynamic and emerging market. It is strategically located in Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa and thus provides opportunities for AWL to break through in these areas. As Turkey has a free (international) movement of capital and goods and has a modern infrastructure, it is an attractive market for AWL to further develop.

There is a clear trend within AWL’s customer base: customers increasingly choose to realize new production facilities in Turkey. For the servicing of those sites they need a local party. AWL has recently found three partners within Turkish borders, each of whom can offer support services in their own disciplines. AWL has made a strategic move and further strengthened the confidence of its existing relationships.

A particular trend seen in Turkey is the centralization of activities within the automotive industry. Many major OEMs and 1st tiers are located in Northwest Turkey and the region is fully focused on this industry. It is worthwhile for AWL to be present in this region and by associating with a carefully selected local service agency, there seems no hindrance to new success.

Besides the wishes of existing customers for AWL to have local representation in Turkey, this emerging market offers plenty of opportunities to expand the customer base. The requirements of quality and volume are increasing rapidly. This also applies to labour costs. There is therefore a strong need to move to automated welding solutions. Organizations are looking for a party that can realise technical know-how and production for companies so that they can gain a positive advantage over the competition. AWL has proven to be a solid and reliable partner when optimal welding solutions are required.

As stated, AWL has found local partners in Turkey that will provide support and service on projects realised by AWL. These partners are:
