Reasons for change
Often companies are in need of change if they encounter problems of their current production facilities not being equipped to meet their changing demands; when an increase of volume can’t be met or the welding of new products is not possible with the current facilities. Other reasons for change could be quality issues or even a complete transformation in production philosophy towards one-piece flow production. And then there is expansion of production facilities or replacement of old machinery. In all these cases, the question remains “what to do?”
Market segments
AWL has divided the radiator market into three different segments, all with their own specific needs and demands.
Towel radiators
In the field of towel radiators there is still a large percentage of companies that weld manually. Born from tradition, it is often unfamiliarity with automated welding that upholds this way of welding., Nowadays, however, automated welding has become increasingly interesting as cost, production time and complexity have been greatly reduced. It now offers a world of benefits compared with traditional welding:

Design radiators
It is already common to use resistance welding processes for welding design radiators, at least for the actual radiators themselves. Many of the single parts are still welded manually. Often this results in a high failure percentage and a lot of repair work, costing you valuable time and money!
In general, a design radiator consists of multiple parts, such as:
• Manifolds
• Elements (with or without additional waves/fins)
• Wall brackets
• Stiffeners
For the assembly of a complete radiator, those single parts need to be welded together.
Finally, the common goal for towel and design radiator welding is to have high performance, flexibility and a reliable process in which the NOK percentage is kept to a minimum.

In the case of complete production lines, are a lot of different variations come together. Not only is there a need for pure welding technology, the logistics, different processes and technologies and controls also have to be combined so that your production runs smoothly and efficiently.
