Basic Arc XL
A new member of the family
AWL has developed a complete line of advanced welding cells suitable for high levels of output and complex product operating conditions.
In the Advanced line, the Basic Arc Welding Cell is one of the most commonly used cells as it ensures a high up-time, and in doing so, results in a high output. This welding cell is equipped with an index table on which two fixtures can be mounted. Two robots are placed inside the cell, with the option for a third robot.
The Basic Arc has been developed based on proven technology. The integrated modules are self-contained and are a great asset in the manufacturing of all kind of products, like car seats, car door frames, subassemblies and other small components. The whole cell forms a single safe zone. It is possible to place more cells together to form a complete production line.
The Basic Arc welding cell is equipped with remote diagnosis. It guarantees excellent levels of support in the event of a interruption, therefore reducing machine down-time and loss of production capacity to a minimum, regardless of your location. The “high level” operating software allows complex control and data management. The cell has a single, stable base frame and is easily transported as it is only the width of a lorry.
The two fixture positions on the index table raise the efficiency of the welding cell. While parts are placed or removed by the operator at the front of the cell, the products are welded by the robots at the back, shortening the cycle time. The high weld capacity, the compact finish and the high level of production make it a very reliable welding cell and make it a strong candidate for integration into your own production facilities. And as your production changes, the Basic Arc welding cell can easily be expanded with the addition of logistical elements.
AWL recently added a new addition to the Advance line: the Basic Arc XL. Although the Basic Arc already proved to be a great solution for 80% of the market, we experienced a lack of space in the cell when dealing with larger products. Also, the market is becoming increasingly standardized on larger fixtures.
With the new Basic Arc XL the fixtures are larger than ever and measure an astonishing 1500 x 2500mm, and as the fixtures are able to rotate on the index table, the Basic Arc XL provides ample reach ability and ergonomic benefits.
The Basic Arc XL is especially suitable for long, edgile products like cross car beams and car bumpers. These products can be placed in the fixture, still leaving room for additional products. Another example is the possibility of welding four car doors (two per fixture) in one cell. This gives a higher output and provides great flexibility. Simple frames for the general industry can also easily be welded with the Basic Arc XL.
Although the Basic Arc XL provides great opportunities, the frame remains that of the Basic Arc. There is therefore no need for special transportation certificates etc. It can still be placed on a lorry, and it will not take up a great deal of floor space in the production area. The Basic Arc XL measures 7500 x 4050mm (with the sides removed for transportation, the dimensions on the lorry are reduced to 7500 x 2900mm). With this size of cell, it is easy to set it up in your production facility. We are in and out within a week! And if you want to relocate the cell to a different area you can do so within a day. If you are in need of an even wider alternative, AWL can provide you with a great solution: the KV-Positioner. Instead of rotating vertically, this Positioner rotates horizontally, offering space for fixtures up to six meters!
